Yes… Along with the extremely ugly Font Rendering on IE10… MS decided this is the best way to render fonts and you can’t do anything that you can on Win7/IE9 to fix the problem.
Compatibility Mode, Disable Hardware Acceleration, Adjust or Disable Cleartype – Nothing works anymore. This is the fixed font rendering, adapt or… save your eyes.
MS implemented on IE10 Desktop Browser the same font rendering as on Metro UI and Apps. In order to look fine on all monitors, you have to be using specific fonts, specific sizes ( large ones ) and specific background/colours on your website. The well-known MS, “do it only as we think is the best”.
